Father of four loses his life in a bike crash with a pickup truck
Unfortunately, this website reports another tragedy. Juan Garcia, a father of four, lost his life on 5 Oct 2020 while riding his bicycle in the 1000 block of North Addison St. in South Bexar County. According to a report on the GoFundMe.com website, Garcia was hit by a speeding pickup truck. It has been reported that no charges have been filed by law enforcement officials.
The road took on the appearance of a quiet, neighborhood road. It intersects U.S. 281 south of Loop 1604.
Donations to help the family can be rendered at Go Fund Me.
Just recently, this website ran a story on Vision Zero, a joint effort of the city and corporate leaders to promote safety on the roads. The effort had established that the loss of even one life or serious injury on the roads is unacceptable. Vision Zero promotes shared responsibility among road designers and users. Their motto is "Every Person Matters."
