Tour de France delayed to a later date due to COVID-19

19 Apr 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tour de France organizers in agreement with the Union Cyclists International (UCI) rescheduled their epic 116-year-old event to 29 August. The three-week, 21-stage race usually begins during the first week of July.

Events where people have gathered in large numbers have been banned in France until mid-July as a part of the fight against the spread of COVID-19. The race will run the same route, beginning with stage 1 at Nice, France.
